crisis Battlesuit done :D

this is the battlesuit i did for the local 'national hero painting contest'  sadly it didnt win in the category i entered in ( under 16's :( , there wasnt any entries in the lotr contest but i dont think id like to spend a hour telling the manager about the time legolas found a tau battlesuit :P)

so onto the pics, im farily pleased with this model (apart from 1 or 2 bad blends on the back/missles) so here it is! :D

Red panda wednesday!

fairly self expanetory, firstly the WIP's

ive got 5 days to do the backpack, arms and guns :/ lots of painting soon :)

this bone colour is a PROPER nightmare :/

the greens are nice though :D

so thats the painting side of things and now for something completley diffrent

i play skyrim, however being a PC gamer* and all that i have to do it diffrently:

and by diffrently i mean having a save thats 3x the level cap, and running around in power armour shooting pistols at EVERYTHING (and having a 50k bounty on my head)

so now for some beaty shots that i took 10 mins ago

stop. hammer............ abuse, millions of times a year a hammer is left out in the cold to fend for itself, for just 3 bloody skulls a year you can help end hammer abuse

the lighing is messed up: horribly on this save, on my proper save its fantastic :D

Tau Battlesuit: 25% DONE

yep the title says it all! ive mangaged to get the green nicely on about 1/2 of the armour plates! :D and ive now learned how to edge highlight! (only problem is that hes so green he looks a  tad like a elf :P)

what sort of noob mounts weapons on arms anyway :L

in retrospect shouldnt have glued the head on :P

regal blue glazes FTW :D

highliting panels no one will ever see because your a perfectionist :P

drone-ing on :P (2 drones done :D)

wow i must say that tau drones are possibly the best painters models gw has EVER produced, now whilst most say that  something like the emperors champion or a hero mini should get that award id like to say why drones are the best painters model!

1) lots of freehand space!

yep i love this :) for these 2 i didnt do something extravagant as to not detract from the blends/battlesuit

2) panels: panels are amazing! by leaving a black line between them your model looks instantly better or they can be used for OSL (think every necron tank)

3)simple and small: takes half a hour to paint one and are pleasing to the eye, unlike some other overcrowded models that are painful on the eye (mantic....)

so if you are ever bored or having a lack of fun painting paint a gun drone :D *you wont regret it :D

anyways onto the pics!

Tau battlesuit drone!

yep heres 1 of the 2 battlesuit drones :D

in all his brown/white and green glory! :Dl

the only problem is that for some inexplicable reason the green dosnt look as nice on the battlesuit?! so im testing to see if its the contrast with the brown!

Tau battlesuit

hi

tonights wip is of a tau battle suit, just the unpainted version (minus a few details) and the power core at the back which was tremendously fun to paint!

not the missle launcher in the next pic (also see the exteended plasma rifle? that was going to be his weapon and  it was going to be shoulder mounted with a bipod and rear stabalisers, but it didnt work so i have a chaingun instead!)

i plan for some OSL around the engines

so thats it! ive got a drone painted in a classy green/ bone colour and that looks really cool! the only problem is i cant seem to achive the same blend on a small armour plate and a large drone..... so i need really steady hands ! :D

so thats him :D my next project is a tau battlesuit for the local GW's hero competition! .... how many weapons can battlesuits have anyway? (taunoob is i) ive given it a chaingun? and a missle pod as well as a small (cosmetic) knee shield!

warp spiders! (almost done :D)

 hi!

wow these things paint quickly!  for the armour im trying to have a high contrast white and dark blue armour with neon blue edgeing, sadly the test mini isnt perfect but ill be painting a lot over the next few days, making the neon more neon (i think ill add a touch of turquoise?) and the dark blue more noticable! :D

however these chaps shouldnt take more than a day or 2 to finish! the reason there not ALL done is this

ACV (armoured core 5) of which i will be doing a review of :D my little mech isnt quite like that one in the pic,  mine is bright yellow! has a personal intrests :  flykicking the flip out of things and getting shot at.   

however all this time on the PS3 has taught me a valuable lesson! if you have a problem: flykicks and chainguns will fix ALL your problems!

anyways back to warhammers!

warpy-spider, warpy-spider does what ever a warpy-spider does! can he swing from a web? no he cant because hes a pig no he wont cause he'll teleportSHAZAM hes behinf you!

ignore the red leg, instead focus on that GK base in the background :D

now back onto painting the test i was doing was not a apature science hand-held portal device OR a thermal discoragement beam but a freehand test for my warp spiders :D

so onto the pic!

ill do a tutorial on it in a few days but firstly a idea (related to  the portal universe)

dont these 2 look a quite simmilar?!

and for that reason im going to try to recreate the gravity gun effect on the spinners! (and possibly slip in a labanda/ black mesa symbol or 2 :D)
