hey im back! i managed to paint another 2 PAGK over the holiday!, but sadly im too tired for any piccy uploading so i have some video game treats for you! firstly a quick intro to combat in the space marine game!,

Verdict: looks awsome however may refrain form buying it due to lack of funds (hey i can do pricy GD projects OR games but not both!) i am not so fond of the midget lascannon though!

tutorial tuesdays... pimp my old grey knights!

hello it tutorial tuesday again!

so today/tonight's tutorial is about making you old sad grey knights going from cool to AWSOME!
so  you start with say a old PA squad. 3 halberds (1 is broken) 1 inceinerator and a powersword wielding sarge!.. ( using ONLY the spare parts from the termi box... or a regular GK box)

so lets fix the sarge first
1) hey his sword looks a wee bit too puny!

2) lets take a falchion and cut off the hand and glue it to his bolter!

3) take a grey knihgt termi sprue and glue a palading book to his backpack... he is now blinged up!
4) ta-da you now have a suitably awesome justiciar!

now we have the time old GK problem... the halberd top has broken off and it will never go back on... DONT try to use terminator arms  instead shear off the whole arm leaving only the shoulder...then glue a regular marine arm onto the shoulderpad. and finally cut a GK halberd in half and CAREFULLY attach each half to the arm! (sorry no pics for this one)

now all you need to do is gather up all the little purity seals and 'bling yo dudesmen up'

well progress on the grey knights is sloooow, however recently whilst thinking about GDUK11 ideas i looked at my old diorama from last years conflict! I love this piece as a measure of how i have improved and also for its dynamisism! but without further ado:

i have finialy started my power armoured squad!
well here he is the product of a hard sundays work painty time ! :P

yes the chest piece needs work

and whilst the chest despratly needs work... foucus instead on the shiny halbard.. oooh shiny!

i like my bolters in beltfeed flavour!

oh and some of you who arnt blind old twits  have keen eyesight may notice the lack of backpack, never fear it is painted , its just not stuck on :P 

so there you have it, terrible NMM, bad spelling and a shiny halbard!!!

tutorial TIME! : grey knight force swords

    hello

todays tutorial is about painting nemisis force swords, the recipe for the gold was in the NMM post but the tutorial today is about the blade! now my original method was very sdimilar to the 'crystaline swords' tutorial in a old white dwarf.

however I wasnt too keen on this method so i switched to a simpler but more effective look:

                                         

so how did i do this ( with only 3 colours!)

so let us begin!

basecoat in regal blue

mix regal blue and white, blend from the middle (blue) to tip (white) for the other side of th e blade do the reverse (blue  middle > white base)

                                                       

now it should look like this!

now blend from the middle to the end that isnt white with regal blue to black. (no its not shiny thats just wet paint)

             HOWEVER the blade isnt finished.. it needs more work/contrast
  

so to give it that paint 1:1 regal blue/white onto the edges

and to finish it of a VERY thin line of white over the edges!
