apart from a little bit around the eye and the battle damage this is the sorta standard im aiming for with the IF!

I think before you try freehand and stuff, you should really work on getting nice and clean and neat, your base coats are uneven and it lets everything else down, thin down your paint a bit more and go back to basics mate, build up some nice, even layers.
im attempting to use a airbrush which is why the yellow looks odd. once the battle damage is added it should look better :D
